The C6100 series of Industrial PCs has been designed for installation control cabinet. The right Industrial PC for every application
The C6100 series of control cabinet PCs includes five devices of various sizes, all of which are fitted with standard components of the highest performance class having Intel Celeron or Intel Pentium III processors in the socket 370 FC-PGA. The series provides the appropriate Industrial PC for every application, according to the available room. All the PCs in the C6100 series are constructed according to a uniform plan, optimised for the exploitation of available space and easy accessibility of all components. The computing power is scalable up to the highest performance class. The housing design in ATX standard dimensions guarantees compatibility with replacement parts over the next years: A PC upgrade may include a change of motherboard, CPU or disks, but does not affect the housing or display: as the ATX standard provides upgradeability over years, true openness is guaranteed. The RAM can be extended from 64 MB up to 512 MB on the slot motherboards, and up to 1 GB on ATX motherboards. All the PC‘s connections face upwards, so that the connecting cable can be taken directly to the wiring channel. The side walls are completely passive, and allow the Industrial PC to be fitted immediately next to other control cabinet devices. The housing permits fast access to the fitted components. After removing the front cover, plug-in cards and drives are freely accessible. Both floppy disk drive and hard disk are held by spring-loaded ball catches, and can be removed in a single action. Three screws must be undone, after which the PC‘s inner chassis, to which all the components are attached, can be removed from the outer housing. The inner chassis can be placed on a bench in any orientation for service purposes. When removed, the inner chassis still has the full function of a PC, and can be operated with a standard monitor and a standard keyboard.

PCs from the C6100 series are supplied together with a 230/115 V AC or 24 V DC power supply unit. An industrial latching plug-in connector is used for the power supply. All drives available both today and in the future, such as hard disks of any capacity, floppy drives, ZIP, CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM and other drives can be fitted. Top performance hard disks operate at high spin rates of 10000 r.p.m., and require supplementary cooling. A bay that can be fitted with an additional fan is provided for this purpose in the C6130, C6140 and C6150 computers. Card holders for the plug-in cards generate insensitivity to impacts and vibration. The card holders can be fixed and removed without tools. Additional slot brakets offer room to connect interfaces to the outside without occupying the space for real slots. A type plate is located on the front cover behind an inspection window, giving detailed in-formation about the configuration of the PC. Data on the function, type and use of resources such as memory and interrupts is listed for the fitted plug-in cards. Data about drives indicates not just the manufacturer and type, but also provides information about connection and jumpers. The construction of the housing has been designed to allow individual adaptation, and many features can be adjusted for your application.
